This itinerary is deliberately simple: seven days based entirely at a single resort island in the Maldives, reached by speedboat or seaplane from Malé depending on the property's location. There is no set programme beyond arrival and departure, allowing each day to be shaped around the reef, the water and the pace two people choose for themselves.

A handful of experiences are woven in to mark the week, among them a spa treatment, a sunset dolphin cruise, and a private dinner set up away from the main restaurant, often on the beach or over the water. Snorkelling directly from the shore is usually possible, with the house reef in many Maldivian resorts home to a wide range of marine life.

The absence of a fixed itinerary is the point. This is a trip suited to travellers who want their honeymoon defined by quiet rather than by a checklist.
