Volcanic islands, rice terraces and centuries-old temple culture

Asia

Asia's tropical belt offers rainforest, coastline and temple culture within a short flight of each other.

A vast and varied continent

Asia stretches from the Middle East to the Pacific, and within it lies an enormous range of climates, cultures and landscapes. SafiriFlow's Asia programme focuses on Indonesia, where thousands of islands sit along the equator between the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

Bali as a gateway

Bali remains the most accessible introduction to the archipelago, with rice terraces, Hindu temple ceremonies, surf beaches and a wellness scene that has grown around its inland towns. It combines easily with the beaches of neighbouring islands or a longer Indonesian itinerary for travellers with more time.

Climate and timing

Indonesia sits close to the equator, so temperatures change little through the year; rainfall is the main variable. The dry season runs roughly from April to October, with the driest, sunniest stretch typically between May and September, making this the most comfortable window for outdoor activity and diving.
