Cape Town & Winelands

A six-day city and countryside stay in Cape Town, pairing Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula with a day among the Winelands.

6 Days / 5 NightsCity BreaksCultural

Route: Cape Town

Highlights

  • Table Mountain visit
  • Cape Peninsula drive
  • Winelands tasting day
  • Boutique hotel stay

Cape Town rewards a slower stay than most cities its size, and this itinerary gives it room to breathe. The first days are spent in the city itself, taking in Table Mountain by cable car when weather allows, the murals and history of Bo-Kaap, and a full-day drive down the Cape Peninsula to the penguin colony at Boulders Beach and the windswept point at Cape of Good Hope.

A day is set aside for the Winelands, with visits to estates around Stellenbosch and Franschhoek for tastings and a leisurely lunch among the vineyards. The final full day is left open, with a visit to Robben Island a common choice for travellers interested in the country's history.

Based throughout at a single boutique hotel, the pace is unhurried by design, suited to travellers who prefer to know one city well rather than move quickly through several.
