This journey opens on the northern Tanzanian mainland with a transfer to Arusha, gateway to the safari circuit, before a short flight into the Serengeti. Three full days here allow time to explore different pockets of the ecosystem, from open plains to riverine woodland, with sightings shaped by the season and the position of the wildebeest migration in a given month.

From the Serengeti, a further short flight carries you to Zanzibar, where the pace changes entirely. The remaining days are spent on the island's east coast, with time allotted for a guided walk through Stone Town's narrow lanes and spice-scented markets alongside open beach days.

The combination suits travellers who want the classic safari experience without compromising on time by the water afterwards, and it works equally well as a two-part honeymoon or a considered first visit to both Tanzania and its islands.
